Outcomes of Management of Pituitary Adenoma by Use of Octreotide Injections Preoperatively

Objective: This study explored the effects of octreotide injections in patients with pituitary adenoma pre-operatively.
 Material and Methods: A quasi-observational was conducted on 12 Neurosurgery department Punjab Institute Neurosciences (PINS) a diagnosis adenoma. To determine size tumor, we did an MRI brain protocol after medication. The mode clinical status, brain, biopsy tumor. We gave 14 short-acting to all before surgery monitored their serum IGF levels. After completion octreotide, planned for complete excision performed level 2 weeks surgery. Then, long-acting every 28 days.
 Results: mean age 43 years. 67% were male 33% female. 92% presented decreased vision. 17% us loss In patients, vision improved. Serum levels significantly surgical excision, therapy.
 Conclusion: With use therapy status outcomes management improve.
